EuroTeam partners with other local missions organizations when there is an opportunity. Jim, from EuroTeam, was asked to teach English at a camp sponsored by Janz Team in the Black Forest this spring. Janz Team is also based in Kandern, Germany and founded Black Forest Academy. They hold English Camps throughout the year in Germany.

The camp involved 50 students from all over Germany ages 10-13. The staff included German counselors and teachers, but one English teacher was also from Ireland. We were in a large lodge in the small Black Forest town of Happach for the camp. It was a very snowy week, so afternoon activities were a challenge. There was no opportunity to learn American baseball, but many opportunities to make forts, snowmen and have snowball fights.

Being the camp was held over Easter break we had a special lineup of events on Easter Sunday. We started the day at sunrise and walked up a local road, stopping to read the story of Christ's arrest, trials and road to the cross. We were met at the end of the road with a small bonfire and hot tea to warm up. After breakfast we had 4 groups go to different Easter Stations and work as a group on 4 different projects. We also had an evening Easter service.

During the week the students had a regular morning Quiet Time, morning English Class, Afternoon Special English Class, Activities, Evening "Jesus Live" and ending the day with "Cabin Time" discussing the topics of the "Jesus Live" evening program. During "Jesus Live" we presented the Gospel through different messages and presentations.

The Afternoon "Special English Class" involved the classes rotating between the different teachers. Each teacher focused on a particular English-speaking country they had some expertise in. They learned about the USA/Oregon, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand.

Jeopardy! winning team!

At the end of the week we had a special Jeopardy! game with questions/answers from the things they learned during the week. The highlight of the week was that at least 20 of the students made a new committment or re-committment to Christ!
