With a team of 4 adults and 1 young man 12 years old, project leaders Shirley and Ann had the opportunity to present EuroTeam's Imagin'Air program (children's TEFL) in Bacău and Buhuşi , Romania . Our team members were Brian and Tina, Gary and his son Samuel from Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Pam from Lancaster, PA. All did a fabulous job teaching English and sharing God's love to these communities.
As we ministered in Bacău with Pastor Daniel, we averaged approximately 40 students each day. The typical teaching ages range from 5-10, but in this special instance, we ministered to toddlers and their parents to high school students. We taught English in the morning, and for 3 afternoons we met students and their parents at the local park, where we played games such as 4-square and hopscotch, and had a day of making balloon animals. Pastor Daniel told us that this was an amazing way to open doors to the local community. Students as well as passersby joined in the fun.
We taught in a smaller town, Buhuşi the second week with Pastor John. This church, a sister church of that in Bacău, has a membership of about 10 believers. Attendance was about 14 students and 2 adults. Most of the children who came were non-believers, so this was an effective outreach program for this church.
Now it is up to Pastors Daniel and John to follow up with their communities so that there continues to be a witnessing fellowship within reach of every person.
