Blessing and Refreshing Eastern European Pastors

EuroTeam just finished conducting European Pastors Conferences in Romania and Moldova. Our team of seven was able to encourage over 25 European pastoral couples during their two-week mission trip.

Pastor Daniel Dragnea and his wife, Marinela, are doing the best they can with what they have. He is a Romanian pastor of a mission church located in the small impoverished village of Scorteni. He and Marinela have three beautiful children. His salary is little to nothing. They are doing what they can to make ends meet. He built his small brick house with his own hands, first actually making his own bricks, then constructing the house. Like many of the homes in Romanian back country, the Dragnea's house has a well for water and an outhouse for a toilet.

Pastor Daniel gave a chocolate to everybody at the conference on his birthday.

During our pastors conference Daniel celebrated his 40th birthday. At the end of that special day, Daniel told the team, through his wife, Marinela, who speaks a little English, “This pastors conference was the best birthday present I have ever received.”

Pastoral couples in Eastern Europe have a very challenging and often emotionally thankless work. Since 2005 EuroTeam is sending teams to Eastern Europe with the sole purpose to bless and refresh Eastern European pastoral couples like Pastor Daniel and Marinela in Romania and Pastor Petru and Svetlana Triboi in Moldova.

Svetlana and Petru

Petru, Svetlana and their three children live in a 40 sq. ft. space. They are starting a church in a Moldovan village named, Vânatori. The name of this village means “hunters” and it is Petru and Svetlana's sincere desire to help these villagers “find” Jesus. Petru asked for prayer that he might be an effective preacher of God's Word. The pastors who attended our conference were openly grateful, rejoicing specifically that the conference teaching had given them great materials and outlines for Biblical messages. Svetlana stood up on the last day and testified that this week had been the best week of her life.

Our team also visited a Bible school in Chisinau, Moldova, sharing in the chapel. Our words were translated into Russian, the common language of ex-soviet Moldova and Central Asian countries. After chapel we personally met with some Central Asian students who are preparing for full-time service back in their respective countries. Our photo from this time is at the top of the page.

In Orheiul Vechi, Moldova , we visited 13 th century monastery that had been totally carved out of a rock cliff and inhabited by Orthodox monks.

EuroTeam mobilizes the Church to fulfill the Great Commission by serving others with professional assistance and service teams throughout Europe.
