Lille, France is the fourth largest city in France. Most people in North America have never even heard of this northern industrial town. But from May 19 to June 3, there were 17 North Americans (the bulk for them from Canada) in Lille to help with the remodel of an evangelical church. The Eau Vive (Living Water) Church bought an old (1930's) post office from the city, and are converting it into a church sanctuary.

Trench Work
Our team worked on converting the back garage area into usable space. For the next year the church will use this "garage” for worship services, while the old office area is converted into a hall for 150 people.

Interior Walls
We had to totally upgrade the area, adding new electrical lines, plumbing and sewer, radiator lines, as well as insulating the walls, dropping the ceiling, and replacing the old front openings (both roll up garage doors and single pane windows) with new double paned doors and windows.
Finished Exterior
We also helped lead a Sunday morning worship service (preaching, singing and giving testimonies) and brought new people into the facility during a fun “ Canadian Night ” of line dancing, Canadian trivia and maple syrup desserts. Many thanks to the people of Lille, especially the brothers and sisters at the church, for helping to make this “vacation” for the Canadians so meaningful.
